In the spirit of this, we have put together a family law quiz with some facts and figures (primarily taken from the Office of National Statistics website- no cheating) so if you have a spare 5 minutes and fancy testing yourself please read on: What proportion of families in the UK are made up of marriage or civil partnership couples? By what fraction has the number of people living alone increased over the last 20 years? Why was there a spike in March weddings in the 1950’s and 60’s? How many couples got married on New Year’s Day in the year 2000 (ie the first day of the new millennium)? What is the average age people move in with a partner? In what year did divorce become generally available to the public? What is the average age of marriage? What is the average age at which people own their own home? What is the average age of a first-time mother? What is the world record for the longest marriage?
