I appeared on BBC Breakfast on the 1 May 2013.
On the sofa was the mother, Sarah Taylor, whose daughter, Nadia, had been abducted by her father and taken to Libya.
Sarah must have been very brave and tenacious from what she told me she pursued applications for residence and custody both in England and also in Libya. She has also taken the step to write a book to show her true story to bring Nadia home.
I had an opportunity to look at the book whilst I was at the BCC; and certainly it demonstrates the distress and turmoil which these child abduction cases bring on a family as a whole, and in particular to any child.
Sarah obtained CCTV images which showed Nadia boarding a flight to Tripoli with her father, and her worst fears were then confirmed. Apparently, no child abduction to Libya had ever been successful and a child returned to the mother in England.
With this blog is a copy of the front page to the book for those who might be interested in this story.
