Back 17 January 2025Henry Venables talks spying spouses With the growing sophistication and affordability of spyware, spying spouses are becoming increasingly common. At Maguire Family Law, around 40% of the cases we handle now involve some form of spying, so our director, Henry Venables, recently contributed an article to the New Law Journal, looking at why people do it, how we advise clients who have obtained footage through covert recordings and how to spot the signs. In his article, Henry also covers what needs to be done to raise awareness of the increase in spying, the training family lawyers need to identify it and the issue of whether there should be more scope for the use of recordings in the family court. You can read Henry’s article online or in issue 8100 of New Law Journal.
